Title: Slavish Rating: PG Word Count: 140 Pairing: Jon/Zahir Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Zahir thinks too much.
Zahir cannot help himself. All the gods know, he tried. He’s a proud Bazhir, descended from lines of nobility older than half the Tortallan Fiefs in the Book of Gold. He sneers at their petty pretensions to pure blood and nobility, while he betrays himself.
It would be easier if he didn’t feel these feelings that crept up on him whenever he paid them no mind. The feelings that burrowed thin tendrils into his mind until thoughts popped up at the most inappropriate times. Once Zahir caught himself musing over the king’s broad shoulders. Another time, his hands, and how it might feel to catch them in his own and lace their fingers together like new spring lovers.
Yes. Doing his duty would be so much simpler if it weren’t for this slavish devotion to his knight-master. His Voice. Jon.
