Title: Ostracized Rating: PG Word Count: 212 Pairing: Jon/Zahir – Team Bend-a-lot Round/Fight: 1A Summary: When Jon takes on Zahir, not everyone’s happy.
“I’ll bet you think you’re so much better than us now,” Joren sneered, leaning across his dinner to nudge Zahir with the tines of his fork
Zahir looked up from the scrambled remains of his meal absentmindedly. “What did you say?”
Joren leaned closer and pressed the fork deeper into Zahir’s arm. “I said that being handpicked by the king must make you feel better than us lowlifes.” Zahir glanced down at his forearm and observed the several rows of indented, purple dots Joren had left there. He brought his other hand towards Joren’s, and with a twist of his knife, he sent Joren’s fork clattering to the floor.
Joren pretended not to notice, but instead began to smirk. “Should we take you outside and help you remember what kind of scum you really are?”
Zahir stood, his shoulders back. “If you’ll excuse me, I have to go attend to my knight-master’s armor,” he said, and picked up his plate. Joren’s smirk grew. “Running away to hide behind his majesty’s power, eh? Don’t let me stop you.”
“I’ll take you anytime, Joren,” Zahir said calmly, though his eyes flickered. “I’m just trying to preserve your reputation- as much as it can be, anyway.” He turned and left, quickly, before Joren could protest.

I love the way Zahir refuses to waste his time on Joren, and his new maturity
