Title: Winning Rating: G Word Count: 147 Pairing: Jon/Zahir – Team Bend-a-lot Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Consoling a loser.
Zahir hated losing. Tearing off his padding from the practice ring, he stalked to the sidelines, fuming silently in his mind.
He was stopped in mid swear by a hand on his shoulder. Turning blazing eyes to see who would dare touch him after such a loss (against a boy a year younger, none the less), he stopped short. It was the King.
“Losses are part of winning, Zahir. Learn to take them as a part of life. It'll treat you well.” Jon paused and added a little bashfully, “The Lioness still bests me in swordsplay, even to this day.”
Zahir's eyes widened for just a second. A man? Beaten by a woman? Jon put a finger to his lips and winked. “Our secret,” he muttered, as he left Zahir standing, moving back to take Thayet's hand.
Zahir had lots to think about, now.

Oooh, I love this! Especially the way the king tells Zahir, 'our secret'. And how Zahir actually accepts it or thinks about it.
