Title: So not true (2)
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 232
Pairing: Jonathan/Zahir
Round/Fight: Round 1 Fight A
Summary: 2nd Part of the "So not true" series, where Jonathan is not in denial.
Jonathan watched his squire out of the corner of his eyes as he finished his stretches. He couldn't help but sigh as he admired the young Bazhir's fighting form. Zahir moved from thrust to lunge to block with what appeared to be a seamless flow of muscles and sinew. He was extremely fit, as Jon had discovered in their practices. Zahir would be barely breathless when Jon was beginning to sweat heavily. Ah, the advantages of youth.
Jon continued to study Zahir even as he finished his stretches. His eyes held a deep admiration, and just a hint of something else, as the younger man's biceps and shoulders rippled through a butterfly manoeuvre. Jon was completely unaware of the smile on his face. Zahir's sword movements were stunning to watch. In fact ...
"Jon!" Someone wacked him on the shoulder with a heavy hand. "What are you grinning about?" Turning, he discovered Raoul at his side. "Which one of these lovelies have caught your eye eh? Shame on you! What would Thayet do if I told her?"
For a heart stopping moment, Jon thought Raoul knew he'd been admiring (no, not admiring, studying, observing) his squire. But then he followed his old friend's grinning gaze, and realised he thought Jon had been looking at the new courtiers who were watching the squires' practice. With a sigh of relief, he laughed off Raoul's suggestion.
