Summary: Zahir is in awe.
Zahir had never thought much of the king. Sure, Jonathan was involved in some of his training, but for the most part, he dealt with other adults. And on the short list of those who he wanted to be his knightmaster, the king was not. It had never crossed his mind that the king would choose anyone other than his son- as had been done for generations (or so he was told).
But now, as Zahir watched King Jon scry with his blue fire, the colour only accenting his eyes and darkening his hair and beard, until only his eyes seemed visible... Zahir realized something.
Jon was, and always had been, the true Voice.
