Title: Alone Rating: PG Word Count: 140 Pairing: Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 1/B Summary: Rosethorn just wants to be alone
She was supposed to be a hero. Supposedly, she had helped to save Gyongxe. Briar and Evvy both told her that thousands of people owed their lives to her.
But Rosethorn just wanted to be alone. She just wanted to stop having those nightmares. She wanted to feel that the gratitude on the faces of the survivors made up for the blood still not washed from the streets. But…..she couldn’t.
She went home and sat in her garden at Discipline, and wept. Even the plants annoyed her. Mila, she just wanted to be alone.
Then Lark came to her, and wrapped her arms around her, and whispered that it would be OK, that time would make the memories hurt less; that she loved her; that she wouldn’t leave.
And Rosethorn found that she didn’t want Lark to leave her alone.

I can see this happening. The mindset is described perfectly.

Thanks- I kind of got Rosethorn's mindset, so it made sense to me.

Precious and understandable. I have certainly been in Rosethorn's shoes here - and it must be bad, for even plants to be on the list of annoyances. Very not surprised that Lark is the one exception - and very relieved that she is available to be so. Wonderful story!
