Title: Sunset Rating: G Word Count: 147 Pairing: Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 1/B Summary: Remembering the peaceful times.
Lark looked up as she heard rustles and footsteps, followed by muffled chatter and laughter, and smiled to herself. She turned to Rosethorn, who was cleaning up the dishes and mugs from lunch.
"They act like they discovered the roof, Rosie," she said, grinning still and bringing a plate to the wash basin. The shorter woman laughed heartily.
"Remember when we did?" she responded. Lark nodded, looking out the window and remembering the warm spring day. The sun was setting and the new thatch on the roof was soft and fragrant. They laid there, smiling and talking and laughing. They watched the clouds turn from white to shades of orange and pink and purple, the sky a fantastic, bright blue. The earth glowed in that perfect moment, and all was well, calm, serene for those few seconds.
"Yes, I do remember," Lark sighed, her serene smile returning.

I love the idea that Lark and Rosethorn discovered the roof- very clever!

Mmmm, I've always had the feeling that Rosethorn and Lark discovered the roof, too. Glad I'm not alone! :Þ Fun little story!
