Title: The Vindictiveness of Thread Mages Rating: PG Word Count: 156 Pairing: Team Discipline (Rosethorn/Lark) Round/Fight: 1/B Summary: Thread Mages have their own sorts of revenge...
“I swear, if one pox-rotted, chuffle brained ingrate comes to natter at me again about how Gods-cursed lucky I am, I will...”
“You’ll what, dear heart?”
Even through their magic, she could hear the laughter in Lark’s voice. She wanted to be angry at it, wanted to curse her for mocking, but in the end she just smiled.
“I don’t suppose I could convince you to hang them in the well for me?”
“Oh, no, my dearest. That’s your domain. Besides, those water temple types would merely use it to escape, and then where would we be?” She couldn’t respond, but her eyes were pleading. Lark’s face softened for a moment, and she reached out to stroke Rosethorn’s head. Then a wicked glint returned to her eyes. “Besides. Thread mages have our own sorts of revenge. Much worse than the well.” Oddly enough, Rosethorn found she believed her.

“I swear, if one pox-rotted, chuffle brained ingrate comes to natter at me again about how Gods-cursed lucky I am, I will...” Oh-my-goodness on-pitch Rosethorn! That is so perfect! How did you even come across all that perfect terminology? Beautiful!
Oh, I love the idea that they can communicate through their magic as well! I'm sure it was mentioned somewhat in the book, but I always wondered why Lark wouldn't be capable of knitting magic together in a similar way - but I'm always a bit fuzzy about when the four started doing that. Still, I thought it was surely something that could occur in other circumstances.
Awwr, that's adorable in Lark continuing Rosethorn's little game. I love seeing Lark so dark yet true to herself.
