Title: Procrastination Rating: PG Word count: 164 Pairing: Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 2/B Summary: Rosethorn is peevish.
“Distract me.”
“Hmmm? From what?” Lark shifted, blinking embroidery patterns from her eyes and catching sunlight that had changed from broad midday warmth to a thin, late-afternoon stream.
“‘Everyone! Stop coughing!’” Rosethorn intoned, pointing her pen at the other woman. “Amendments to Quarantine Law: Emelan and Eastern Pebbled Sea.”
“Isn’t that title supposed to be at least three lines longer—?”
“—Just because Crane needs a paragraph to say what he wants,” Rosrthorn sniffed, bringing her hand to her face and poking herself in the cheek with quill and ink. “Ah, blast.” She glared streaked fire and fury. “This is dull. And necessary.”
“The worst part.”
“By far.”
Lark smiled, standing and moving into the smaller woman’s space, letting her thumb rest on a particularly striking ink smudge. “And you want distraction? You could just go to Crane and press your face against the greenhouse. I’m sure he’d be terribly pleased.”
Rosethorn laughed, startled and brief. “I do keep forgetting that you’re evil.”

“Isn’t that title supposed to be at least three lines longer—?” *Snerk.* This is all perfect. So academic. I am dying here, hahaha. I love their agreement that 'necessary' is the worst part, when coupled with 'dull'. So true!
Ahahahaha, yes, Lark is evil, it seems! I love the laughter it startles out of Rosethorn. This little piece is brilliant. And, as a procrastinator, I must admit I was endeared to it immediately.
