Title: Darling Rating: G Word Count: 127 Pairing: Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 2/B Summary: Lark mourns.
“Here, dear, let me help.” Rosethorn’s level voice cut through Lark’s sadness, but only barely. The threads before her were tangled beyond all repair- she didn’t know how to deal with them and everything that was going on.
Rosethorn sat behind her, letting her magic, cool and calm and patient, like the soil of the earth, (grounded)- seep into Lark. Lark grasped onto her desperately, sobbing a little.
Rosethorn didn’t bring up the trader caravan that had passed by. She didn’t mention the news they’d carried- that one of the great players had died in an untimely accident.
Rosethorn rocked next to Lark, humming softly, letting her mourn. The threads that so confused her now would make better sense in the morning. But until then- Lark had Rosethorn.

Another quiet moment, sad this time. I love this story as well. Rosethorn certainly wouldn't be so gentle with others. Poor Lark, though! Realistic thing for her to mourn, as well. Nice job!
