Title: A Long Time Ago Rating: G Word Count: 130 Pairing: Lark/Rosethorn Round/Fight: 2/B Summary: Lark and Rosethorn, before they wanted to be together.
"He's an idiot."
"Yes."
"Goat-brained fool."
"Mmm-hmm."
"Are you listening to me?" Rosethorn didn't demand, exactly, but if she had been speaking to anyone else, anyone else at all, it would have been a close call. She sounded, Rosethorn realized, very juvenile. She hated sounding juvenile.
Lark's hands stilled, threads of silk twined between her fingers like gossamer spider-webs. "Of course."
They stared at each other, and Rosethorn leaned back, watching Lark's hands play across her weaving. It was... it was like the sensation of bean-runners stretching towards the sun, singing in airy voices of rich dirt and warmth.
Different from her other most significant relationship (that bleat-brained fool); not better, or worse, just different.
Even in the silence, she liked these evenings, like they filled something that was missing.

I love how you describe the silk and the relationship and everything here. It's so dreamy and picturesque. =3

Even in the silence, she liked these evenings, like they filled something that was missing. Okay, so every line in this is absolute brilliance, but that line nailed it home. All of this is so wonderful - the characterisation is perfect! I love your description of the silk from two different perspectives--different, but not better or worse. (; Wonderful story!
