Summary: Clary is not impressed.
Clary’s eyebrow slowly raised. “You don’t cook,” she said, unimpressed. “At all?”
“Can’t be bothered,” he said flippantly. “I’m a proud bachelor.”
Clary sniffed. “Your mots can’t be very impressed with you. Is that why you can’t hold on to one?”
“I don’t want to hold on to one. And besides,” he lowered his voice to a deep rumble and waggled his eyebrows, “I impress the mots plenty the night before.” He winked at her and Clary rolled her eyes.
“I’m sure you do,” she said dryly.
Mattes shrugged. “I do,” he told her, and then a grin spread slowly across his face. “And now I’ve made you curious.”
Clary scowled.
