“Mattes…tell Tomlan I love him.”
“You’re fine, you can tell him yourself. Gods, you’re as bad as my sister, thinking you’ve got one foot in the Peaceful Realms every time your body’s not working quite right.”
Clary let out a wry laugh and winced. “Believe me, it feels like I have more than a foot out of this realm.”
“You’re going to be fine,” Mattes repeated.
“But if for some reason I wasn’t…”
“Don’t worry, I’d tell him.”
“And could you visit him every so often and keep him from being so lonely?”
“Of course,” he reassured. “But you’re going to be fine.”
Clary relaxed against the pillows. “I love you too, you know.”
