Summary: Mattes couldn’t help but stare.

Mattes couldn’t help but stare as his partner nibbled delicately on the small red fruit. He’d heard that mots eating strawberries made an attractive sight, but he’d never seen it himself until now. It was probably an embarrassment to his proud status as a handsome cove and bachelor that he hadn’t seen it before, but he was certain that seeing Clary now more than made up for it.
She had a mischevious twinkle in her eye, and he knew that she knew exactly what she was doing to him as she took her time in eating it.
He relaxed as she finally finished it but he caught her slight smirk just before he looked away, and he felt his blood rushing south as she started to lick the juice from her fingers.
Gods, he thought. This is too much for a poor cove to handle on duty. Nevertheless, he made sure to remember to stop by her house the next day with some more.
