Title: Language Barrier

Pairing: Clary/Mattes

Summary: Clary has no patience when she can’t understand what’s going on.
Clary was fairly certain that the odd-sounding conversation had turned from proper Dog business to less proper conversation that wasn’t relevant at all. She shifted her weight slightly and narrowed her eyes at Mattes, letting him know that she knew what he was up to, and that her patience had well and truly run out. Mere moments later, he seemed to be saying goodbye to the other mot, and he set off down the street.
“You coming?” he asked over his shoulder.
Clary glared at him and resisted the urge to throw her sap at his back as she walked up to him.
Mattes grinned at her. “I know that you secretly love it when I speak Hurdik,” he told her. His eyes became mischevious and he murmured another phrase in the unfamiliar language.
Clary wasn’t sure what he’d said, but there was no mistaking it was something filthy. She made sure she stood on his foot and elbowed him as she walked past.
“I suppose I did deserve that,” he muttered.
