Clary lay back in Tom's arms that night, pressing her face into his chest. It wasn't fair - this was proof the gods were laughing at her, and Clary Goodwin did not like being laughed at.
“You’re quiet tonight,” Tom murmured, and his words created a faint rumble against her ear.
“I’m thinking.”
“You sure you’re not sulking? Raising a Pup with Mattes won’t be so bad.”
Clary sighed, and didn’t respond, closing her eyes tightly. Raising a Pup with Mattes, and yet another reminder that her monthlies came like clockwork.
