“A copper?”
Clary shook her head. “We’re hard up this week, what with Tom having to buy new tools and all.”
“A kiss, then.”
Clary raised her eyebrow. “And what if I win?”
“I won’t complain about anything while we’re on duty for a week.”
Clary grinned. “Alright, then.”
“Alright, then. Pick a card, but don’t show me what it is.” Clary did, and then watched as he shuffled the cards, laid some out, picked some up, and shuffled again. Finally he held one out to her. “Is this your card?”
Clary’s jaw dropped. “You cheated,” she accused. “I don’t know how, but you cheated.”
Mattes just grinned and gathered her into his arms to claim his prize.

Oh, they have such great banter

That is just so adorable! I can see Mattes using a card tick to his advantage, but I don' really see Clary minding. I swear, the more C/M fic I read, the more Beckett/Castle I see in them

Hee, yes to both! Clary would protest a bit, but she's perfectly happy (she wouldn't have agreed to the kiss if she wasn't, and he knows it), and their dynamic is very much like Castle/Beckett! ;D
