Summary: It was that kind of a night.
“Gods, the stars have never looked so beautiful.”
Clary nodded in agreement and took in a deep breath, reveling in the fact that they were somehow still alive.
Mattes let out a hoarse laugh. “We did it, Clary. We did it.” Before she knew what he was doing, he’d picked her up and twirled her around. She watched as the stars span above her head, and then Mattes set her back on her feet and planted a kiss on her lips.
She stared at him. “I’m married, you looby.”
He shrugged and grinned. “I’m not.”
Clary just laughed; it was that kind of a night.
