Title: Blush Rating: R Word Count: 186 Pairing: Clary/Mattes Round/Fight: 2/B Summary: Mattes realizes that Clary’s relationship with Tom might be serious.
Clary walked away from the carpenter carrying a basket of food. Blushing. Now, Mattes never minded food. Especially not when lunch was barely a memory. But the blush? Clary never blushed for him. Not even when he ran that lovely Pink Lady rose, his newest acquisition, over all her curves. Not when he whispered the filthiest (or even the sweetest) of suggestions in her ear. In public, he was lucky to get a punch in the arm or a friendly insult; in private a kiss. But no blushes.
He’d always liked it, that they were friends first. Taking a bite of a fresh hot roll, ignoring her slap to his hand, it occurred to him that they might’ve had their last breakfast in bed this morning, nibbling fallen crumbs off each other, laughing in the golden light. They might be friends and partners, but no longer lovers. He hadn’t thought he would mind. And as long as he could be sure this Tomlan was as good a man as he was a cook, he might be glad for her. Still, he wished she blushed for him.

Ooh, I love this! I love that even though Clary's only just starting to get involved with Tom, there's still an obvious distinction between the ways she interacts with them both. And Clary blushing and Tom making her food is so adorable! ;D
Fantastic fic! ;D

I absolutely love how she acts differently around the two! I can see Mattes getting a bit jealous of Tom when he shows up, but still happy for her. Once he approves the man, of course.
