Summary: Rain distracts Clary and forces Mattes to keep her on task. well, at least a little.
Mattes hated the rain and the way it made the heat seem hotter and the cold seem colder. A hard rain could make a shift seem endless.
If it was hard enough, though, the Rats would run and hide in their little pubs and only cause minor problem. This, in turn, left only him and Clary alone on the streets to keep each other entertained.
He was willing to put up with the rain for the way her uniform clung to his partner’s body and how she got distracted by her discomfort. It was his job to keep her from drifting off into her dreams.
And if he had to do it by perking her senses in a dark side street, well, all the better.
