Title: Globe Rating: G Prompt: #20 Faith Words: 100 Summary: Mortals are not the only ones that fight rampant on the battlefield of the Scanran War.
She feels her mistress’s pain, understands that this may be the battle that destroys everything they’ve ever fought for. She’s met every adversary that any warrior could hope to encounter; from immortal-tipped arrows, and hungry vengeful magic, to the dying touch of endless knights’ blades.
As the war continues, her mistress lets out a blood-curdling scream. They will not fail; not for her mistress’s family, her King, or her people. She has been the gold and blood, fashioned by mortals and magic alike, that has shielded Tortall for twenty-five years. And she will ascertain that no Lioness will fall today.

I'm in love with this piece. It's so pretty, and I think it's an interesting piece about the gods' feelings for their Chosen.

Interesting piece - I love the perspective and I love the outside picture you've painted of Alanna. Very powerful!

Thanks guys It's actually from the POV of Alanna's shield, however vague it probably appeared.

Wow, this is a really cool idea; it's interesting to consider how important something as simple as a piece of equipment is, and how big an impact it could have on a battle and consequently a kingdom. It would be neat to have a series of short pieces from the point of view of different random objects.

This is very powerful! I love it, and the perspective!
I agree, a series from the perspective of random objects could be awesome. And potentially hilarious.
