Buri has always loved how the utter frothiness of Thayet’s laugh. It bubbles to the surface, fizziness on top of the champagne sliding down one’s throat.
Her own laugh is low and throaty and comes from her chest rather than her head, never as happy as the other woman’s is. It is even more rarely given; her amusements are kept privately in her mind rather than expressed out loud. Raoul once described her laugh as constantly surprised, given that she is so rare to make the sound.
She wishes that she could laugh as freely and gleefully as Thayet does, because it is a sound that brings joy to her heart.
