Title: Long Pause Rating: PG Word Count: 159 words Pairing: Kel/Maura Round/Fight: 1/C Summary: Kel leaves it a long time between visits
"I didn't think you would ever visit me again," Maura said quietly, once the servants had retreated.
Kel kept her cloak wrapped around her, having claimed she was suffering from a chill when the servants had tried to relieve her of it. "You asked me to come."
"I asked you lots of times before," Maura pointed out, sinking into a chair. "You were never persuaded those times."
This moment had played over in Kel's mind several times since she had last left Dunlath - and, as the months wore on, the scenarios grew steadily more complex. All the words she had imagined saying jumbled together in Kel's throat, and eventually, she chose none of them. She slipped her cloak off, and allowed her swollen stomach to do the talking.
Maura's eyes were fixed on it instantly, and Kel could tell the other woman was doing calculations in her head. "Well, I don't suppose that is mine," Maura concluded wryly.

The pun of the title is making me laugh even while the dynamic between these two is making me swoon.
