Title: Equality Rating: G Word Count: 124 Pairing: Maura/Kel Fight: 1C Summary: Kel wants to be treated like a knight, doesn’t she?
I had a nurse once who taught me to be prim and proper. She placed me on a backboard for my posture. She gave me bread and butter dinners when I couldn’t remember all the kings of Tortall. And each morning I practiced how I would curtsey to a queen, a duke, a knight.
But no one taught me how to curtsey to a lady knight. Was I to treat her the same way I would treat a lady, or any other knight?
Fair is fair, I told myself, and curtseyed as gracefully as I could manage, looking up at her with a trained flirtatious smile.
And like other knights, she grinned wryly, attracted to the coquetry of a rich and fair young woman.

I adore this, and the "like other knights", and the reminder of that nurse!

I love how you've portrayed Maura in this - so mature, and knowing in the ways of flirtation.
