Summary: Wyldon thinks that Kalasin would have been a good knight. A series where Wyldon and Kalasin struggle with the idea of duty.
“You would have made a good knight,” Wyldon comments, the first time they ride together.
“Thank you, sir. You’re very kind.”
Wyldon almost laughs. “No, I’m not.” He pauses; Kalasin, who is ahead on the trail, looks back, raising her eyebrows. “Being a knight is all about duty, you see. Following orders; duty to your crown; your crown; your people; your country.”
“What do you mean, sir?” Kalasin asks as Wyldon pulls up beside her.
“You’ve followed your duty since you were a little princess. That’s what would have made you a good knight.”
Kalasin blushes with the praise. “I am a princess of Tortall, sir. I do nothing less then what is expected of me.”
