Title: Tall Tales Rating: PG Word Count: 116 Pairing: Gary/Raoul Round/Fight: 1E Summary: As Gary sleeps, Raoul remembers. Notes: I haven't written fic in a while, so excuse the rustiness.
Raoul remembers summers in the pond when he was a page, with Gary. The angry burn of Gary's fair skin, the stinging sun—and their quest to seize that pestilent, cow-ugly frog who'd left behind a slimy gift in Raoul's favourite pair of breeches. The tales they'd spun had been ridiculous, born of boredom and boyhood. Their dreams were as equally exorbitant and exciting.
He feels like he's spinning a tale again now; his fingers travel the mountain pass over Gary's bare shoulder, crosses the expanse of Gary's back, floats down the river of Gary's spine. When Gary turns over and lets out a soft snore, Raoul can't help but feel like he's the one dreaming.

This is positively splendid! There's so much nostalgia in this, and I love the landscape you have made of Gary's body.

Oh, this is lovely! You bring out the feelings of nostalgia and lazy summer afternoons so well; I feel all dozy and content now. I've missed your writing too! I'm glad to be reading it again. ♥

Oh, beautiful! The images of boyhood and summer are perfect--I felt like I was seeing them through a golden haze of nostalgia--and the relation of Gary's body to a landscape is lovely. Wonderful writing!
