Title: Daughters Rating: G Word Count: 133 words Pairing: Neal/Owen Round/Fight: 1/E Summary: Neal and Owen lament over their daughters growing up too soon.
“They grow up too fast,” Neal remarks, watching his daughter as she twirls across the ballroom. She is a blur of green silk and dark hair, spinning with whichever dance partner she has enticed onto the floor tonight.
Owen smiles. “That, they do,” His own daughter is too shy for dancing, and is probably sitting in the corner with some chubby-cheeked squire, discussing books. “Its hard to believe we were ever that young once.”
Neal rubs his head, feeling thinning hair under his wrinkled fingers. “We were so much more worldly then, weren’t we?”
“Easier to deal with too,” Owen chuckles, “Less boisterous, more invincible.”
Neal is silent as the dance ends. His daughter and her partner hold hands for a moment too long, and he sighs dramatically. “Definitely easier to deal with.”

Oh, I love this. I know I keep saying that, but I do. It had me grinning like an idiot. And your descriptions of their daughters are just perfect!
