Title: Catching Up Rating: G Wordcount: 110 Pairing: Neal/Owen Round: 1/E Summary: Neal and Owen talk for a bit.
-
"The Stump's squire," Neal drawls, long legs stretched out in front of him. "Well, I honestly cannot imagine."
"It isn't all that bad," Owen tells him, perched on a chair, chin resting on the back. "His daughter is nice."
Neal's eyes glint knowingly, but he doesn't pursue the topic. "What do you talk about? Can he even make conversation?"
"He has a sense of humor," Owen responds. "He likes all of us more than I thought. Except you. I don't know how much he likes you."
"I'm very sad," Neal snorts. "Truly though, I'm glad he took you on. It was a good thing of him to do."
Owen agrees.

That's lovely. You've really captured that kind of relaxed casualness you get between real friends.

I love that Owen's frankness leads him to say that he doesn't know how much Wyldon likes Neal. Great piece!

I really like this, it's such a simple look at the two of them interacting together, which I think makes it all the more special.
