Title: Broom Closet
Rating: PG
Word Count: 336
Pairing: Briar/Daja/Sandry/Tris – Team Circlecest
Round/Fight: 1/H
Summary: Briar and Sandry finally talk.
Sandry couldn’t take it anymore. Being around Briar was making her twitch, to the point that even her uncle had commented on it (‘Sandry, are you sure you’re okay?’). She couldn’t help the blush that mantled her cheeks each time Briar looked at her, just as she couldn’t help the butterflies that seemed to constantly make her feel alternately sick or giddy.
“You wanted to speak with me, Duchess?” Briar was leaning casually against the edge of her desk.
“Insolent man,” she muttered, pushing the stack of papers away from her.
“Mmm, it’s my nature,” he replied airily. After a moment of watching her, he shifted his weight and ran a hand through his hair. “I-“
“No, me first.” Sandry cleared her throat and stood, straightening her already perfectly aligned skirt.
Of course, Briar thought to himself, a smile playing at his lips even as he waited.
“You kissed me.”
“You liked it.”
Sandry sniffed. “That’s besides the point.”
“Should I do it again?”
Sandry tilted her head, combing one hand down her braid as she watched him. “I think you should.”
Briar grinned, a little like a predator, and closed the space between them in two long strides. This time, when he kissed her, Sandry had a moment to gather her blocks to Tris and Daja, but only barely. As much as she loved her sisters, she wasn’t sure this was something they needed to know about. At least not yet.
“You taste like sunshine,” Briar murmured against her lips. His hands on her hips, drifting up to clasp her sides, were like fire. This was why Daja was so intent on Rizu. Feeling this fire inside and outside, everywhere their bodies met…
“Oh!” Sandry’s gasp as he nipped at her bottom lip made her inhale sharply. “Briar-“
“Later. Later, we can talk more.”
Sandry didn’t bother agreeing verbally. She was too busy sliding her hands up his shoulders, around his neck, and pulling him closer.
This was what it felt like to be alive.
