Title: In Loving You With My Whole Heart Rating: PG Wordcount: 196 Pairing: Crane/Rosethorn Round: 1/F Summary: The Circle is not about monogamy, but sometimes Crane wishes it was.
It's hard to get mad at Lark, which is a problem. When she is there, all sweetness and comfort and understanding, and she tells you that the Circle encourages love to be shared, that true commitment is to the Circle, not to another, you cannot rage at her. She is kind, and she doesn't deserve that. Even if she did, this is what you signed up for. You knew this going in.
But what if you wanted to give all that you were to another? What if you did not want to share your love, because in this whole world, there is only one person you can imagine giving it to?
And what if, when love is shared, you get unequal portions? Rosethorn gives you only her passion, and that white-hot spark of anger, and you love those things truly, but sometimes you see her smile at Lark with contentment in her eyes, or watches them entwine their fingers, and you want that too. You want all of her, not just her anger but also her joy.
But that is not the Circle, so you live with what you have and wish and wish for more.

Perfect and sad. I love the last line and the repetition of 'wish'.
