Title: Sailing 14 Rating: PG Wordcount: 125 Pairing: Team Circlecest Round: 2/C Summary: Daja and Tris make the best of things.
“Nevermind, Tris,” Daja said, as the two of them dished out a bland shipboard breakfast. “It’s too bad the kelp wouldn’t cooperate, but we’ll get by.” Wouldn’t cooperate was an understatement: actually, the kelp had tried to absorb Briar into their collective, and the circle had almost lost him. Now he sat with Sandry, still recovering from the ordeal.
Tris nodded, rubbing her nose. “I suppose we should have provisioned ourselves with more variety.”
“But this is half the fun of sailing!” Daja insisted.
Tris looked down at the plates, dubiously. “Daja….”
Daja sighed. “This afternoon, I’ll try fishing.” She passed Tris a second plate. “Here. Take this to Briar, and tell Sandry to come and get hers.”

Hahaha. I love how domestic all of this is, boat or no. This series makes me smile.
