Summary: Tris and Crane have a conversation.
“Lightsbridge.”
“Yes.”
Crane did not quite smile. “I won’t ask if you’re certain, Trisana. It would hardly be useful.”
“Niko’s made the arrangements for me.” The young woman paused, her mouth twisting a little as she leant forward, pressing the bridge of her nose. “Again.”
“You saw the library, whilst you travelled?”
“No, but Daja did, once. And I think that’s part of why she’s made
so much less fuss than the others.”
“Others will fuss. And you shall need that library.”
“I know,” she muttered. “So much to learn, all from the beginning again.”
“So many people to avoid,” he said, startling her.
“Crane?”
“The ivory is never as fine as you expect.” Sighing, Crane drained the last of his tea. Tris snorted.
“You’re telling me you minded being left alone?”
“Dear girl. I wouldn’t go that far.”
“Good, because I’d tell Rosethorn. And Briar, and—”
“—I did have Rosethorn, you know.”
Tris stared at him
“I wish you only the best,” he said. “Your plan is as worthy as it is elegant.”
