Title: Six to Go Rating: PG Wordcount: 186 Pairing: Jon/Kel Round: 3/A Summary: A real conversation, at last. Notes: I couldn't think of anything relevant to six. Sorry...
Words would not escape her. Kel refused to let that sort of thing ever happen. Spies were articulate. Lies flowed from their lips like water in mountain streams.
She swallowed and turned to face the king. Jonathan's face was open and friendly, and there were no signs that he thought her off in any way. She could do this. She could talk about Tortall, this country she was so unfamiliar with, with the country's king.
"It's interesting to be back," Kel said, and licked her lips. They had gone dry rather suddenly.
"It must be so odd, returning after such a long time," Jonathan smiled. "I know I would find it odd, transitioning from the Yamani Islands."
"I'm adaptable," Kel said, and instinctively reached for her fan. "I do wish that I had more time to practice my glaive."
"Of course," the king murmured. "Well, that could always be arranged. I would be happy to look into securing you a practice court."
"I would appreciate that very much," Kel said, and cheered internally. She had gotten Jonathan's attention for sure-- but that was only part one.
