“So George, what do you think of your wife’s new friend?”
“Who do you mean?” George asked with a laugh, “Alanna has lots of friends."
“Lady Knight Keladry. I’ve heard that she and the Lioness have been getting closer.”
George frowned, clearly perplexed. “I’ve never seen her around Alanna,” he said, “Are you sure you have the right information?”
“Positive. It’s all over Corus that they were sneaking around in the palace during the night last week. I heard that a serving lady saw them. Some say it’s more than friendship.” The man looked down at his watch. “I should go, my wife will be waiting for me. And I can’t have that, now can I? Or else she’ll end up like your wife. See you around, George.” The man waved goodbye before walking off.
“Sneaking?” George whispered before gasping. “Oh lass, you can’t be.”
