Title: Blindness Rating: PG-13 Length: 100 Round: 3/A Competitor: Alanna Summary: Alanna teases
Blindness.
Purple fire had stripped the light from the room, then eased back into its weilder’s skin, so there was darkness, and sound. Breathing. Their breathing would always be different: Kel’s long and even, Alanna’s quick and sharp as if a conflagration might spill from her at any moment. They breathed their own bodies. Waited. Strung.
In the dark, Alanna touched her, taking her time so that, while no fire shone from her skin, some echoes of it might sink into lean, arching flesh, and she tried to make that breathing change.

I love that Alanna notices the difference in their breathing, and tries to make Kel's breathing change. It just gives such a huge sense of awareness.
