“I don’t like you, Jesslaw.” Vania announced, surveying the knight with disdain.
Owen rolled his eyes. “I’m not sure how you expect me to respond to that, Your Highness.”
Vania smirked. “I’d prefer you to walk away. Be chivalrous, let the lady win, and all that.”
Owen snorted. “Not a chance, Princess.” He straightened in his chair, glancing at the sleeping woman between them. “I will be waiting here until Kel wakes up. She will ask for me, you’ll see.”
Vania shrugged. “As you wish.” She smoothed her skirts out and smiled sweetly. “I do love the sad little pout your lips make when you lose. It reminds me of Jasson’s hounds.” She took hold of Kel’s hand closest to her. “I always win, Jesslaw.”
