It had to be done.
Vania didn’t like rivals. Perhaps most of that stemmed from the fact she rarely had any. Who could compete with her? After all, she was young and ravishing and cunning, and it was no easy feat to top that.
So when that obnoxious man came onto the scene, she knew what had to be done. Competition just could not be tolerated, especially when the prize was someone like Lady Knight Keladry of Mindelan.
She absently wiped her hands on her skirts, leaving stains of blood there. Before she locked the chest and shoved it into the Emerald Sea, Vania gazed regretfully down at the decapitated head with its staring blue eyes and was almost sorry she had to kill someone as handsome as this sergeant.
