Title: Gold and Steel Rating: G Length: Very lo-- erm, 228 words Competitor: Wyldon Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Wyldon and Alanna mount up for Kel. Uh..seperately.
a/n: I guess depending on how you look at why Alanna is so jealous angry, this could've been posted in her fight too =]
------
“They what?” Alanna demanded, leaning so close into Jon’s personal space that he was forced to rock back in his chair. “He what?” The king decided this was not the best time to tell his Champion he was also reposting her son Alan and his knightmaster to the Tusaine border. “Lord Wyldon has sought my permission to ask Keladry for her hand. And she has accepted.” The Lioness banged her fist on the table and shook it unconsciously in pain. “He wanted you to tell me!” she fumed. “He knew if he was the message-bearer, I would challenge him to a duel on the spot! Tell me where he is, Jon. I’m taking him to the practice courts.” She was already halfway out the door, hand on Lightning’s hilt, when Jon’s voice stopped her. If she had been less infuriated, she might have heard the amused ripple under his words. “Oh, Wyldon knew you would challenge him, Alanna. But as the challenged, he also has the right to pick the weapon. You better hurry; he’s saddling his horse down at the stable right now and heading to the tilting field to wait. He also suggests,” and here Jon did a passable impression of Wyldon’s calm, instructive tone, “that you wear your parade armor, not the Raven Armory suit. ‘Gold gives better than steel, when you hit the ground.’”

Ahahaha! This is fantastic! I loved that Wyldon knew exactly what Alanna was going to do and that he chose the exact thing that she would fail at

Eeee! I love stories that allude to the fact that Alanna could *never* best Wyldon in jousting.

100% awesome! I adore it all; Alanna's temper, Jon's amusement, Wyldon's slyness.

I love this! Wyldon is so very tricksy, as is Jon.
