Round/Fight: 1/A
Summary: Kel thinks about what she wants.
A/N: Sheez. Some of this is quite out of character.
“No,” she said softly, “we can’t.” They had had this conversation before, cloistered in corridors, lingering in his office over some trivial matter. “What would people say if they knew?”
“But you want to. I can see it in your eyes.” He brushed a bit of hair from her face. “You’ve never cared what people thought about you before. Why now?”
“Because it’s not just me they’ll be gossiping about this time. It’ll be you, and maybe one day, our children.” That wasn’t all though. When they were together, it was easy to forget everything. Her career as a knight, the vicious gossips, the fact that his wife was still alive and healthy, even her common sense. But later, alone she couldn’t help but think of all the problems, all the things that were wrong, with what they were doing. She’d resolve to tell him and break tings off, but once they managed to sneak away, the doubts were gone, and nothing but them mattered as long as he kept holding her. But not this time…..
“I can’t keep doing this,” she sighed “what about your wife? What if someone-?”
“No what ifs.” His voice was firm. “Just think for a minute about what you want. Not about other people. Not even about me. Just about what you want.” She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, trying to do what he said. It wasn’t long before she had her answer.
“I want-.”
“You don’t have to tell me,” Lord Wyldon said sadly. “I already know.”
Keladry nodded and left.
