Title: Empty Rating: PG-13 Length: 188 Competitor: Wyldon Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Kel fails to deal with loss.
Her loss had left her with what felt like a hole in her chest, one she was struggling to fill. She had originally drowned it with tears, but her eyes were drying and the hole gaped as wide as ever.
She turned to alcohol next, and whilst it didn't help exactly, it allowed her to forget there was anything missing.
Forgetfulness and devotion to drink had their own rewards. Soon, she hadn't just lost one person, she'd driven away a whole host of family and friends, having discovered an unusually sharp, alcohol-sodden tongue.
Raoul remained, though. He held her hair back off her face, out of the way, and moved the bucket after she was done.
She turned her face away from him, but that had been a mistake, since she was completely unaware of, and thus unprepared for the cold water he tipped over her.
"Time to come back to us, Kel," he said kindly, passing her a towel. "You know he would never have wanted this for you."
She paused, using the towel to dry her face. "It's hard," she said after a while.
"I know."

Omg! This is absolutely lovely. I adore the touch with Raoul - if anyone would know Kel's struggle with alcohol, it would be him, and it's so good of him to take care of her. You write grief so well

Beautiful <3 The greatest thing, I think, is that Raoul is one of the friends who wouldn't leave her. Thanks for sharing!

Definitely chiming in on the Raoul-love. This made my heart hurt so much, and I love it!
