Title: Failure Rating: G Length: 127 Competitor: Wyldon Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Wyldon contemplates his failures
--
Wyldon has never liked to lose, and so he had always schooled himself to be the best. He'd trained harder and for longer than any of his peers, and thus had been awarded the position of training master when Duke Gareth had chosen to vacate it. He liked to think he'd been appointed against Jonathan's better judgement, so at opposite were his views from the king's, and thus that proved Wyldon's worth.
Losing Joren, therefore, had hit him hard, shaken his confidence, and, compounded with Vinson's failure, been enough to see him quit his role.
Watching Keladry leave, though, he felt a certain contentment. She was going on to better things. It was okay that he'd lost the battle to expel her. She deserved everything she got.

I like that you've thrown in a degree of competitiveness; I never really think about how he *must* be competitive to rise so high.

I like the comparisons with Joren and Kel, and the complete 180 he has on his opinion of her.
