Title: Dreams for Plans Rating: G Length: 184 words Competitor: Wyldon Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: She doesn't believe him anymore.
-----
He said, “I’ll leave her one day.”
And she said, “I believe you.”
And she did, because their love was sweet murmurings late at night in his bed or shared looks across a room that no one but them understood. He told her she was a good knight; she told him he was the kind of knight she hoped to be. A wife born and bred in court could not know what it was to love like this.
He said, “You mean more to me than you know.”
And she said, “I believe you.”
And she did, because he held her when her brother died and kissed her softly before he left her room in the early hours of morning. He told her she was a remarkable woman; she told him she didn’t think she could live without him, because it was true. This went so much deeper than an infatuation.
He did not leave his wife, and he never said I love you, and nothing changed, although the years passed.
He said, “This will change soon.”
But she did not believe him anymore.

So good! I love that, despite it all, she can't seem to bring herself to leave him.
