Title: Queen of Hearts Rating: G Length: 174 Competitor: Wyldon Round/Fight: 1/A Summary: Sometimes a change of setting will make you see things differently… For as long as he’s known her, she’s been surrounded by men. The young boys who trained with her had warmed up, after a time, and latched on to her. They’d looks like chicks to her hen.
And then she went off to the King’s Own and bravely fought centaurs and saved flooded villages with the help of fifty men who also grew to love her. She’d faced the killing devices she would later find a way to destroy while she was on this adventure with the Third Company.
The faith these boys and men had in her led them to follow her into Scanra, to help her with a fool’s mission – a hero’s mission. They fought by her side, they protected her and let her protect them.
It wasn’t until she was surrounded by these men at a ball in Corus that he thought to wonder. Had she earned their love, as well as their respect?
It was then that he realized that he didn’t much care for the men who surrounded her.

Squee! This is a great piece, nice to look at the woman in a man's world angle, from a softer point of view.

OMG I love this! I like how Wyldon's small epiphany suddenly made him leery of all those men. <3

Thanks - I think he needed to realize they were competition.
