Wyldon had never been intrigued by the Yamani Islands before, but when he heard that Ilane's daughter was part of the delegation, he couldn't help but take an interest.
Keladry wasn't what he had anticipated of Ilane's youngest daughter - though perhaps a part of him expected all her daughters to turn out as Oranie of Hannalof had. Keladry interested him, though, and when he found her wandering the gardens, he stopped her to ask after her family.
She delivered the news of her mother's continued health, but he only inspired a reaction after revealing his own rank. Her eyes lit up, and she divulged that she herself would have liked to try for knighthood, had her family not remained in the Islands.
He replied politely enough, but later thanked the gods for their foresight in keeping her out of Tortall. She wouldn't have finished her first year as a page.
