Kel doesn't like the way the young women drape themselves all over Lord Wyldon. It is unbecoming, the way they all try to ensnare him, in the hopes of marrying a wealthy noble. She tells herself she isn't jealous, and ignores the sinking feeling in her stomach every time he dances with a noblewoman.
Finally, it's Neal who notices her dislike. Neal seems to think it distasteful, but she suspects it's because he thinks that Lord Wyldon doesn't deserve such attention. Unfortunately, Kel thinks their attention is merited, he is a hero after all. She just wishes that his attention was not on them, but on her.
