Goodbyes are always hard, Kel has learned, and she has had to say goodbye to a great deal of people. She said goodbye to her friends when leaving Tortall, and then when leaving the Islands. Wished every new knight a good onward journey till it was her turn, and then bid farewell to the pages and squires she left behind.
She'd witnessed a great many young men and women take their first steps into matrimony, leaving her behind, and she'd never minded before.
Saying goodbye to Wyldon as he leaves for Cavall is a new and keener sort of pain, though, and one she wishes she didn't have to bear.
