Some mornings, Wyldon wakes up in Kel's quarters, and he knows what Numair must feel like when he wakes up with Daine. Rows upon rows of little sparrows are perched everywhere, their little beady eyes silently staring at him as his eyes open.
Mercifully, they stay on Kel's side of the bed, but Wyldon wishes they could find somewhere, anywhere else to be. He knows the birds have served Kel well over the years, and yet, it is something he just cannot get used to.
So Wyldon closes his eyes, and goes back to sleep, hoping that they'll be gone when he wakes again.
