Summary: Set during Squire, the griffin has wreaked havoc on Kel's room and Raoul has a problematic realization.
"Amazing, the skills a fellow picks up in forty years of bachelordom, don't you think?"
Raoul closed the door to Kel's room behind him and walked slowly across his study, the dining room, and then into his room, closing the door behind him. Hands pulling at his hair, he leaned back against the door and slid to the floor.
He was losing his mind.
Her dreamy hazel eyes staring at him in confusion had almost led him to lean in and...
He squeezed his eyes shut.
She was his squire for Mithros' sake!
It's not like either of you have much of a reputation... Everyone thinks you're sleeping with her anyways...
Raoul groaned, he needed to to remove the vision of her enchanting hazel eyes from his mind. He needed to stop imagining the soft kisses he longed to trace over the griffin scars on her hands and fingers. He needed to stop dreaming about their jousting together in the dark seclusion of his rooms...
Raoul threw his head back into the door and winced. He needed to get out.
He found Buri in his favorite hidden training yard and almost turned away, but then... They were friends. They were more than that really, best friends. Comrades in arms...
