Summary: Kel struggles with a memory of Raoul
Owen and Margarry’s wedding was elegant, and yet very simple. Kel had spent the last ten or twenty minutes talking with the jolly couple, and was now wandering the gardens at Cavall alone. There was simply too much noise in her old training master’s home what with most of Jesslaw filling every nook.
Sitting herself on a secluded bench, Kel decided that it was overexposure to Raoul as a squire that made her anxious at parties.
Then she had to shake Raoul from her mind, their last meeting… It had been wrong of her to let that happen. He was married for Mithros’ sake, and Buri was her friend.
But his hands sliding from her waist and down her thighs had felt so… And his kisses along her burning skin… The dripping sweat that could have belonged to either as they--
No. Kel couldn’t allow it to happen again. She swallowed hard, even if it meant she could never see him again.
A shadow blotted out the setting sun in front of her and she looked up to see the outline of a man, and with the sun behind him there was no light for her to make out his face.
“Alone at your friend’s wedding party, Lady Knight?”
