Raoul wasn’t blind. He even believed that he had noticed that Kennan lad’s attraction to his squire before she did. He wondered how Kel could have trained with boys aged ten through fourteen—nineteen if one counted Queenscove—and not know when a boy was infatuated with a girl.
Then he remembered that this was Kel, and she had trained as one of the boys. Of course she wouldn’t notice.
When he discovered she reciprocated his feelings his heart had clenched. If he hurt her…
So he’d spoken to her of the complications women warriors faced when dealing with romance—and then he’d left her to find that Kennan boy.
If he hurt her, he promised the very pale-faced boy squirming before him he’d send him flying of his horse to Scanra.
